School Calendar Modified for 2012-13

Midland Park Schools Spring break will be shorter this year, in order to make up for the eight instruction days lost due to Hurricane Sandy and the borough-wide power outage following the October storm.
Instead of having a full week and one day off in the beginning of April, students will enjoy an extended weekend for Easter. The shorter spring break will be from Good Friday (March 29) through Tuesday, April 2. Schools will be re-open Wednesday, April 3.
Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, Jan. 21 will now be a half day for students and a half day for professional development. It was previously a full day of professional development and closed for students.
The district also made up two days in November, when the New Jersey Education Association Convention was cancelled following the hurricane. The revised calendar accounts for 183 days and no snow days. In the event of additional school closings due to weather emergencies, district officials reserve the right to make further changes to the schedule, including moving the last day of school beyond June 26.
