Panther Girls Basketball Head to State Semi Finals

After winning the state sectional finals, the Lady Panthers face off against Bloomfield Tech at Ramapo High School at 5pm on Wednesday, March 6 for the state semi-finals.
This is the first time a Midland Park Girls Basketball Team won a Sectional Championship. On Tuesday night, the Panthers dominate Butler High School for a 51-33 victory. In front of a sold-out MP gymnasium the Panthers took the lead for good three minutes into the first quarter and never turned back. Tremendous defense by the Panthers opened up a 21-3 First Quarter Lead and pushed the lead to 34-12 at the half.
The Panthers held Butler scoreless in the first half for a span of over 7 minutes. Leading the way for the Panthers was Rebecca Rabiero who had a game high 16 points to go along with 14 steals. Kim Rabiero who shut down Butlers leading scorer on defense scored 11 points and grabbed 9 Rebounds. Nicole Cartaino pitched in 10 points while Avery Dravis-Stark added 9 points.

The Panthers will now advance to the North Jersey Group 1 Championship as they take on Bloomfield Tech who is the Section 2 Champion on Wednesday night at 5pm at Ramapo High School.
