Retired Teachers Mahon & Brady Inducted into Education Hall of Fame
Midland Park Public School District recognizes the key contributions made by past staff members in announcing this year’s selections for induction into the Education Hall of Fame:
Ms. Florence Mahon taught math, science and spelling at Highland School in 1955, moving to MPHS in 1957 when the school opened. Ms. Mahon was the first female administrator in our district, serving as the head of the math and science departments in 1981. She continued to teach twelfth grade calculus until her retirement in 1993.
Mr. William Brady served as a Speech Therapist in our district for over thirty years until his retirement in 2005. Mr. Brady provided critical therapy services to young students, using real-world experiential pedagogy to elicit conversation and promote strong oral language skills.
Following the receipt of letters of nomination for this high honor, inductees were selected according to the process identified in BOE policy. Ms. Mahon and Mr. Brady will have their pictures displayed with past Education Hall of Fame honorees in a designated hall at MPHS and be recognized at a future Board of Education meeting.
