Borough Beautification Day Set For May 4

04/23/2013 04:45PM ● By Anonymous

Give a helping hand and spruce up the community at Midland Park's annual Beautification Day.  The decades old tradition is typically attended by the Scouts, but is open to anyone in the community who would like to help.

The event begins at 9 am at Wortendyke Park, off of Englishman Drive, and is completed before noon. This year's plan is to clean up around West Street and Greenwood Avenue, and to plant flowers around the 9/11 Memorial at the Firehouse on Witte Drive.

Cleaning supplies and materials will be provided by Cubmaster Joe McElwain, who also works for the Bergen County Department of Health Services and the Bergen County Clean Communities Program.  Anyone interested in volunteering can sign up by contacting McElwain at jmmcelwain@verizon.net or Councilman Jack Considine at jjconsi@optonline.net.
