Come to the Midland Park Summer Recreation Camp
● By Anonymous
There’s still time to sign up for the Midland Park Summer Recreation Camp. The camp will once again be held at the DePhillip’s Center, 50 Dairy Street, Midland Park and is open to children going into grades 1 through 8 from both Midland Park and Waldwick.
During camp, the children are divided into different groups based on their grade, and boys and girls are divided into separate groups. Kids get to play sports like basketball and ping pong, make arts and crafts, play on the playground, and keep cool with sprinklers and water slides.
The camp runs for 6 week-long sessions, the weeks of July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, and Aug. 5. The normal camp day lasts from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The camp costs $65 per week for the first child, $50 for the second, $40 for the third, and no more than $155 for a family. The extended day option costs $50 per child and extends the camp hours until 4 p.m. each day. To celebrate the end of an exciting week, an optional lunch is provided to the kids, costing $1 per slice of pizza and $1 per drink.
An optional tennis program is also available on the weeks of July 8, July 15, July 22, and July 29. For $10 per child and a maximum of $20 per family, children are given two tennis lessons during the week. Racquets will be provided, but kids should make sure to wear sneakers.
Registrations forms are available online. The costs for camp, the extended day and the tennis program can be paid for in the same check, but the lunch must be paid for separately. Checks can be mailed in or dropped off at Midland Park Recreation, DePhillip’s Community Center, Attn: Kathy LaMonte, 50 Dairy Street. The checks should be made payable to Borough of Midland Park.
