Air Quality Alert Issued

The National Weather Service has issued an Air Quality Alert for the Midland Park area through 11pm Monday and again from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday.  An ozone action day has been declared for Ozone forecast to reach unhealthy levels for those who are sensitive, include the young, elderly, anyone with respiratory disease, such as asthma. Avoid strenuous outdoor activity and exercise during the afternoon and evening hours.

In addition, a Hazardous Weather Outlook has been issued for isolated thunderstorms on Monday afternoon and evening. The possible storms are expected to be strong to severe, with the main threat of damaging winds. Small hail and heavy rain also possible, bringing the potential for localized flooding.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the high 80s and low 90s through Thursday, before dropping to the low-80s on Friday.

A slow moving frontal system later this week through the week end brings the next chance for severe weather, with the possibility of damaging winds, hail and flash-flooding.

Monday night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 10pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 68. West wind 5 to 8 mph becoming calm in the evening. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms after noon. Partly sunny, with a high near 91. Light west wind becoming southwest 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Tuesday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 70. West wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 91. West wind 7 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Wednesday Night: Scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before midnight. Patchy fog after midnight. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. West wind 3 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Thursday: A chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 2pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
