Summer Camps In and Around Midland Park

Looking for something to keep the kids occupied this summer? We've put together a round up of summer camps and programs available in and around Midland Park. For registration information, click on the link in the headline.
The Batting Circuit of Midland Park is offering two summer camp sessions this summer for children in grades K-8. The camps will be held from 9am to 1pm at Pascack Brook County Park in Westwood on July 8, 9, 10 and 11 for baseball only and on July 15, 16, 17 and 18 for baseball and softball. The cost per player is $249 per week or $399 for both weeks. Sibling discounts are available.
The Drawing Room is offering a great variety of art classes this summer running from July 1 to Aug. 24. The Budding Artists class for ages 4-7 and the Art Experience class for ages 8 and older will be running from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. In the afternoon from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., there will be four Specialized Fine Arts Camps which will focus on specific artistic skills; the Painter’s Palette class will run during the weeks of July 8 and Aug. 12, the Exploring Drawing class will run during the weeks of July 15 and Aug. 5, the Sculpture Studio will run during the weeks of July 1, July 22, and Aug. 19 and the Collage and Assemblage Class will run during the week of July 29. These classes cost $215 per week or $50 per class. Full Day Camp is available for students who want to take part in both morning and afternoon classes for $430 per week or $100 per class.
Children ages 7 to 12 will engage in hands on learning about horticulture and gardening in eight-weeklong sessions in the greenhouses and fields at Abma's Farm, 700 Lawlins Road, Wyckoff. The camp is held in 8 individual weekly sessions from June 24 to Aug. 24 and costs $250 for one week, $225 for each additional child or week.
This summer, build confidence, get creative, and create awesome artwork at Art Summer Camp, hosted by the recreation department and KidzArt. The camp will run from Aug. 19 to Aug. 23, at the DePhillip's Center, 50 Dairy Street, Midland Park. For children in grades K-5, the class time is 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., and for children in grades 6-8, the class time is 1 p.m. to 4p.m. The camp costs $195 for the week, and art supplies are included.
Sign up for the Midland Park Summer Recreation Camp at the DePhillip's Center, 50 Dairy Street, Midland Park. Children will get to play on the playground, spend time playing sports, create arts and crafts, and even enjoy waterslides. The camp will be held for 6 weeks, the weeks of July 1, July 8, July 15, July 22, July 29, and Aug. 5. The camp will cost $65 per week for the first child, $50 for the second child, $40 for the third child, and with $155 at most per family. Camp hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. though an extended option is available where children can stay until 4 p.m. each day for an extra $50.
Miss Patti’s is offering three camps this summer. Camp for the weeks of July 8 and July 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m for children ages 4 to 8 with ballet, jazz, tap and musical theater styles of dance. Cost is $230 per week for one student and $215 a week for a sibling or second week. Pre-Teen and Teen Dance Camp runs runs from Monday, July 22 to Friday Aug. 2 for students ages 8 or 9 to 17. Previous dance experience is necessary. Class will teach dance styles such as ballet, musical theater, jazz, hip-hop, lyrical, modern, Bollywood, variations, pointe, character and ballroom dancing, and costs $580 for both weeks or $300 for one week. Ballet Intensive Camp runs from Aug. 5 through Aug. 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. teaches classical techniques, pointe, variations, leaps and turns, character, adagio, modern and Pilates. The camp costs $700 for the 2 weeks. Miss Patti’s School of Dance is located at 85 Godwin Ave, Midland Park, NJ 07432.
This summer, learn to make pottery at the Old Wortendyke Pottery Studio. The summer classes will run for 8 weekly sessions from July 8 to Aug. 31. Adult classes are $250 at the beginner/intermediate level and $300 at the intermediate/advanced level, children’s classes are $235, and private, hour long lessons are available with owner and instructor Judy Losapio for $100 each.
The Midland Park Schools Continuing Education is offering 17 different courses for kids in July and August. From Kindergarten Readiness to SAT Prep, there is something for all ages. Courses range from studious to sporty to crafty.
This summer the New School of Dance Arts is offering two exciting camps for children. The camps will give young dancers the opportunity grow emotionally, mentally and physically and to have lots of fun. The New School of Dance Arts also has four different weekly classes for teens and adults. Offerings include Princess Dance, Musical Theater, Middle School Strength Training, Yoga and Ballet .
