Police Blotter: Home Burglary, Credit Fraud
The following items were submitted to the Midland Park Press from the Midland Park Police Department:
On June 26, a Hill Street resident reported to Det. Sgt. John Gibbons that he was a victim of a credit card fraud. He stated his debit card was used to make four withdrawals of $740 each at ATM machines in Union City.
On July 4, as a result of a motor vehicle stop, Officer Michael Canonico arrested a 39-year-old male resident of Warwick, NY on outstanding warrants. The warrants in the amount of $1,417 emanated out of the Ringwood Municipal Court. The male was transported to headquarters where arrangements were made for the posting of bail. The defendant was issued summonses for unregistered vehicle; failure to exhibit documents; driving while suspended, and speeding. Sgt. Gregory Kasbarian assisted in the investigation.
On July 5, a Midland Park resident reported to Officer Canonico that he was a victim of a debit card fraud. He stated a fraudulent transaction, in the amount of $100, was made on July 3 on an online gaming web site. The matter was referred to the Detective Bureau.
On July 8, Sgt. Kasbarian and Officer Kenneth Junta took a report from a North Monroe Street resident who stated his home was burglarized while he was away on vacation. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Department BCI responded to process the scene. The exact proceeds are not known at this time and, the incident is under investigation.
