Police Blotter: Home Burglary, Identity Theft
The following items were submitted to the Midland Park Press from the Midland Park Police Department:
On July 11, a Birch Street resident reported she was a victim of an identity theft. She stated an unknown person(s) activated two phones using a license in her name. She stated the new numbered phones are located in Montclair, and SoHo in New York. Officer Mark Berninger investigated. The incident was referred to the Detective Bureau.
On July 13, Officers Kenneth Junta and Michael Canonico were dispatched to a residence on Godwin Avenue to investigate a burglary. The resident reported an unknown person(s) forced their way into the residence and stole a blue laptop computer, black laptop bag and a ring. The Bergen County Sheriff’s Department BCI responded to process the scene. The approximate value of the burglary amounted to $1,300. The incident is under investigation.
