The National Weather Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for the Midland Park region through 6pm Tuesday. Stronger thunderstorms this afternoon will also be capable of producing strong winds with the possibility of a brief, isolated tornado.

A low pressure system moving Northeast from the Mid-Atlantic region will meet up with an increasingly moist and unstable air mass to produces showers and thunderstorms today, with widespread rainfall amounts of up to 3 inches from the heaviest cells. Rainfall rates of 1 to 2 inches in an hour could cause flash flood of small streams and poor drainage areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop in and near the watch area that lead to flash flooding, a dangerous situation. For up-to-the minute information, visit the National Weather Service's Watches, Warnings & Advisories for Midland Park page.
