Soccer Starts Sept. 7

In-town soccer starts on Sept. 7 and will be held on Saturdays at the Sunset Fields next to the front of the Midland Park Junior Senior High School.
Players require shin guards and soccer cleats are recommended. Bring lots of water.
Clinic (K-1): 9-10 am for 8 weeks.
PeeWee (Grades 2-3): 10:30-11:30 am for 10 weeks.
Junior (Grades 4-5): 12:00-1:00 pm for 10 weeks.
Senior (Grades 6-9): 1:30-2:30 pm for 10 weeks.
End of Season Party tentatively scheduled for Nov. 16 at the Firehouse.
Coaching RequirementsThe Borough Council requires all volunteer coaches to complete a Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Course, clear a background check with fingerprinting and to complete an online concussion awareness training.
The Rec Department is holding the Rutgers S.A.F.E.T.Y. Course at the DePhillips Center ("The Barn", 50 Dairy St) at 6:30 pm on August 28 or 29. Contact Recreation Director Kathy LaMonte at firstname.lastname@example.org or 201-652-2747 to register before August 21.
Go to the Police Department and pick up the paperwork for a background check. The procedures will be outlined there for you. Please keep your receipt. The Rec Department has indicated that the Borough will reimburse the cost of the fingerprinting. The Police Department will issue you a "clear" letter, please send the Rec Department a copy. This background check is good for 5 years.
