Midland Park

Classic Cars & Hot Dogs All The Way

08/24/2013 07:42PM ● By Rebecca K. Abma

Nostalgia was on the menu at the Midland Park Christian Reformed Church's annual community outreach day on Aug. 24. Dubbed Clixies Day after the popular Wyckoff restaurant that closed in 2006, Clixies Day is the only time all year when the legendary All-The-Way Sauce is available. The restaurant was started by Clarence "Clix" Pruiksma, who was a parishioner of MPCRC.

The day also included a classic car show and military vehicles, face painting, kids crafts and a bounce house. Church groups were also represented, including the GEMS club (Girls Everywhere Meeting the Savior) and Cadets (for boys). Both groups meet on Tuesdays at the church.

Another church ministry turns pillowcases into dresses for girls in Africa using a simple pattern. The first shipment of dresses went out earlier this year and a new set of dresses were on display before they ship out in a few weeks.

The Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, 183 Godwin Ave., holds services at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings.
