The St. Francis Closet, a ministry partnership between the Church of the Nativity, Midland Park and Church of the Presentation, Upper Saddle River is seeking parish volunteers for a clothing drive it is sponsoring on Saturday, October 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at both parishes. The ministry is collecting new and gently used clean fall and winter clothing.

“This event is a wonderful opportunity for those looking for a one-time volunteer project, or for families to participate with their teenagers,” said Event Co-Chair Neil MacLennan of Presentation.

Volunteer opportunities are open to members of either parish and include: collecting, inspecting, and sorting clothing at drop off locations at the Church of the Nativity, Midland Park and Presentation Church in Upper Saddle River; loading clothing into vehicles for distribution, and driving vehicles to the various recipient organizations throughout northern New Jersey.

“This newly formed ministry provides an avenue for our community to provide goods from our abundance to the needy in our surrounding areas,” said Tia Patterson of Nativity, co-chair of the event.

For more information on how you can participate in this important and much needed event by contributing your time and talents, please email Tia Patterson, at Nativity Church or Margie Rightmyer, at Presentation Church.
