A Ramsey Firefighter killed in Afghanistan earlier this month will be honored this week in Ramsey. Expect traffic delays throughout the area.

From the Ramsey Police Department:

It is with extreme regret that the Ramsey Police Department must inform you of the tragic passing of United States Army Staff Sergeant Timothy McGill. Staff Sergeant McGill’s wake and funeral arrangements will be taking place within the Borough of Ramsey. The Borough of Ramsey will be expecting a large presence of family, friends, military, emergency service personnel, and sworn law enforcement personnel mourning the death of our hometown military hero.

Throughout the week of September 29th through October 4th, expect major traffic related delays. Unfortunately, there are no definite dates and times concerning these ceremonies, but please be prepared to observe emergency no parking signs, road closures, and traffic detour patterns for all of East and West Main Street, as well as, Wyckoff Ave and the surrounding streets. We understand that this will directly impact the businesses on Main Street and the residents in the area. We ask for your patience and thank you in advance for all your cooperation as we honor Staff Sergeant Timothy McGill.
