Councilman Junta Steps Down

Second Term Councilman Mike Junta announced his resignation from the Borough Council, citing an upcoming change in residency, Suburban News Correspondent Lynn Bruggemann reported today.

"Junta's resignation comes too close to the upcoming Nov. 5 general election to allow time for interested candidates to run for the vacated seat," the article states. With one year left in Junta's second term, the council will appoint someone to fill out the end of the term, based on recommendations from the Midland Park Republican County Committee. 

His resignation is effective Oct. 12. The council has 15 days to fill the seat, based on three candidates put forth by the Republican club. For more details, visit:
