The winner of "Best Originality"

There were plenty of ghosts, ghouls, gore and glitter on hand for the Midland Park Recreation Department's first of  first ever Halloween house decorating contest. The judging culminated on Halloween night with the following winners announced:

Best Theme: The Tuozzo family on the corner of Glen Avenue and Dairy Street decked the house out with a cemetery, skeletons and smoke, with ghouls up on the front porch along with a bubbling cauldron. It's your classic over the top creepy Halloween house.

Originality: The Desousa family on Pine Street filled the yard with a science experiment gone awry, a creepy clown and an extremely scary baby, along with bats, headstones and a giant spider. There are plenty of elements guaranteed to give you nightmares!

Judge’s Favorite: The Doumas family on First Street threw a party at Club Halloween, where ghouls were just "dying to get in." The club came complete with an RIP Room, a Broom check for the witches, flashing lights and, of course, glitter. The lawn was also decked out in clever signs, like Don't Text and Fly and Listen to your Mummy.

Congratulations to all the winners! Approximately 20 families across Midland Park entered the competition and everyone who participated deserves a town-wide round of applause.
