Signing Day: Rabeiro Commits to Dominican

Rebecca Rabeiro signs a letter of intent to attend Dominican College on a full scholarship.

Panther Basketball Star Rebecca Rabeiro signed a letter of intent to attend Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY, where she will be starting point guard for the Chargers on a full scholarship.

"I selected Dominican College because I loved the school and the team," the 17-year-old Midland Park High School senior explained. "I also liked the fact it was close to home so my family will still be able to attend my games. I appreciate the opportunity to be able to go to college for free and to play as a Charger."

The 17-year-old Midland Park High School senior selected the Division II school because she loved the school and the team. It's also close to home, so her family will still be able to follow her career through college. She'll join three of her New Jersey Sparks teammates at Dominican. 

Rabeiro began playing basketball in first grade with the rec program and joined the Midland Park travel team, which went 25-0. Last season, the 5-foot, five-inch powerhouse averaged 14.7 points, 6.5 assists and 5.2 rebounds, scored her 1,000th point during. She was featured in The Record as a senior spotlight over the summer. 

Rabeiro's mother, Linda Rabeiro, and sisters Stephanie and Allison Cohen were on hand for the signing along with MPHS girls basketball coach Sean O'Connor, Athletic Director Michael Gaccione and IYB Trainer Ben Allen.
