Wanted: Able-bodied men who are willing to roll up their sleeves and get to work fixing the schools and restore pride in Midland Park.

A group of dads frustrated with the state of the school facilities and last year's failed referendum have decided to create a Fathers' Guild to make whatever repairs necessary, either through labour or fundraising.

"Contractors, Carpenters, Painters, Plumbers, Electricians and workers from all trades built America," the guild posted on its flier (attached). "Right here in Midland Park we have residents who work in all these trades and more. With everyone’s expertise we can fix our schools. We will not accept 'No, you can’t'."

The Fathers' Guild will raise money and make repairs to our schools,  The intent is to be used as needed by the principals, to do whatever needs to be done, whether it is to hang a smart-board, paint and do light carpentry or even change toilet seats and light bulbs.

One thing the Fathers' Guild will not do: "We are not a political group or trying to convince people to vote one way or another. Just men willing to give their time. We will simply do what is needed to fix what is broken."
