Tree Lighting Rained Out

12/06/2013 11:34AM ● By Rebecca K. Abma
The annual borough tree lighting has been rained out. "Due to the forecast of poor weather conditions, Santa and his Reindeer have made the decision to visit Midland Park on Dec. 13 to celebrate the holiday season with everyone," the Midland Park's eNotices service reported today. (Sign up to receive eNotices here.)

In addition to the tree lighting ceremony, the festivities at the Midland Park Memorial Library has also been postponed for next Friday. The library will be staying open late for a special model train display by the Northern New Jersey N-Trak on Dec. 13. The train display is sponsored by the Friends of the Midland Park Memorial Library.

Meanwhile, the Santa Train will be coming through town tomorrow (Dec. 7)  to pick up toys collected for Toys for Tots. The Midland Park Volunteer Fire Department has been collecting new-in-package toys all season. Donations can be made at the following drop-off locations in town:
  • Rock Your Hair Studios on Godwin Ave.,
  • Parisi's Fitness Center on Greenwood Ave.,
  • The Parkwood Deli on Glen Ave.
  • The Firehouse on Witte Drive between 6 an 9pm Friday, Dec. 6.
