Police Blotter: DWI Arrest, Delivery Stolen

The following items were submitted by the Midland Park Police Department:
On Nov. 30, as the result of a motor vehicle stop at Goffle Road and Godwin Avenue, Officer Mark Berninger arrested a 27-year-old resident of Ridgewood for driving while intoxicated. The driver admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage prior to operating his vehicle. The male subsequently failed field sobriety tests and was transported to headquarters for processing. He was issued three motor vehicle summonses and released into the custody of his sister. The defendant was given a date to appear in the Midland Park Municipal Court. Officer Steven Vander Pyl assisted in the investigation.
On Dec. 2, a Midland Park resident reported to Officer
Jason Tillson that a package was stolen from his porch. The victim stated he checked with the
delivery service and was told the package was delivered, as well as the time of
delivery. The package contained four
pairs of jeans with a total value of approximately $100. The resident stated a similar incident occurred
on Nov. 25. That package contained
gift cards with an approximate value of $35. The incident was referred to the Detective Bureau.
