The following items were submitted by the Midland Park Police Department:
On Dec. 8 at 2:03 a.m., a 23-year-old female resident of Saddle Brook was arrested after Sgt. Michael Powderley investigated a suspicious vehicle. In speaking with the driver a strong odor of burnt marijuana was emanating from the interior of the vehicle. Upon completion of the investigation the passenger was charged with possession of marijuana, less than 50 grams and possession of narcotics paraphernalia. She was released with a pending court date. The vehicle operator was issued summonses for driving while suspended and no liability insurance. Officers from surrounding towns assisted in the investigation.
On Dec. 10, the manager of a local business reported to
Officer Mark Berninger a male and female attempted to make a purchase with
fraudulent $20 bills. The clerk
observed a difference in the texture of the bills and handed the money back to
the subjects. The purchase was made with
a credit card and the subjects left the store in an unknown direction. Officers then canvassed the surrounding areas
with negative results. Officer Jason
Tillson assisted in the investigation.
