Kristin Dahl Showroom Grand Opening Party Set For April 30
By Rebecca K. Abma
Look out ladies, there's a new boutique in town. Kristin Dahl Fashions is opening up a showroom at Z's Barbershop, 245 Godwin Ave. in Midland Park. The shop, quite possibly the first independently owned women’s-only clothing boutique ever in Midland Park, will be open weekdays by appointment only.
Local fashionista Kristin Dahl started Kristin Dahl Fashions in her home in 2005, after working many years in showroom sales in Manhattan’s garment district. At the time, she had two children, and spent a lot of time traveling out of state for her job.
The company was born out of her “obsession with fashion and dressing people,” combined with a desire to be closer to her family and quit the daily commute to New York City. She has built the business entirely through word of mouth.
A graduate of Wood Tobe-Coburn Fashion School, Dahl started her business with off-the-rack sample sales at her friends’ homes, which grew into traveling trunk shows of boutique brands, typically discounted. Her eye for fashion, and unique understanding of the various fashion sense of women in the Northwest Bergen area, quickly took off.
“I cater to a wide variety of women,” explained Dahl, who lives in Midland Park, where she was raised. “We have something for everyone. Preppy, Funky, and Jersey.” What is Jersey couture? “Glitz and Glam.”
Dahl invites the community to stop by the showroom on April 30 between 6 and 9pm for an evening of cocktails, appetizers from the Catch-y-Caterer and shopping racks of spring clothes. Mary Allain will also be on hand with the season's trendiest jewelry, purses and more.
The special night will also include 10% discount on all purchases, prizes and giveaways. Children are welcome.
